Thank you so much for making this print for free. My kids have gone crazy for your other swords so I expect I will be joining your membership.
Printed on Bambu Lab X1C w/ 5mm brim w/ .35 gap. Used deburring tool on the + point at the end as it was a little sharp when you try to collapse the blade by hand. It may need a touch up w/ sandpaper to smooth it out completely.
11h 27m at 40mm/s with Overture Matte Ice PLA. Nice finish, no post-print filing. It's a shame I couldn't attach a video, because slowly collapsing, expanding it looks really cool!
Would defo recommend

this is an amazing model!! i have a very small toybox labs printer and i scaled it down and it still printed amazingly keep up great work this is the coolest bestest print i have ever printed im currently printing the second one
Hi,
thank you for this model. Printed it on my Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro with Standard PLA settings and it came out very nice. My biggest print so far and it just worked. No problems with collapsing etc but the long print time makes me wanting to buy a faster printer now. Printed with 100% infill for 44 hours.
Well, I did it. I made the sword as big as I could in my print bed, had a slight problem with the very top, ran out of filament, and changed to red. Size 175.33 X 175.33 Y 294 Z mm
Printed this on my X1 Carbon, have had the X1C for about 1 1/2 years now and have printed 3-4 swords of similar designs, this one has by far been the most reliable for strength and build quality. I printed this with a "Blue and Pink" silk PLA+ which imo turned out amazing. I highly recommend this print to anybody with a Higher or Lower quality printer as it has been designed amazingly and prints easily in one piece which does require some consistency in tolerance.
I'm having trouble printing this on my Ender 3 V3 KE. So far I haven't been able to get it to extend. I'm not seeing visible Elephant's foot, and there are enough gaps between the walls that it seems like it should work
I'm using Creality Slicer. These are my settings:
Layer Height: .25mm
Line Width: .4mm
Seam Position: Random
Slice gap closing radius: 0.04
Wall generator: Arachne
Wall Loops: 2
Infill: 15%
That's called the Z-seam. Most slicers (by default) will start and stop a layer at the same point for every layer, causing a line going up the height of the print.
To combat this, you can set the Z-seam to randomize in most slicers. It will randomly pick a place to start/stop a layer, removing the line, but possibly causing small spots or dimples in the start/stop spots.
This is the STL (standard triangle language) file that needs to be loaded into a slicing software to be transfered into a gcode file before printing.
Think of an stl file as the actual 3d image where as the gcode file is a list of comands that the printer will follow exactly to the letter.
The reason for this is because the gcode will have all the settings based on various things like your own printers build volume, hotend temp, bed temp etc.
I'm having trouble getting the inside to retract, I may have printed it smaller than I should have. I was wondering if they're are any tips to helping get the print to retract (I have already tried poking with bobby pins and they don't seem to work).
I'm having trouble getting the inside to retract, I may have printed it smaller than I should have. I was wondering if they're are any tips to helping get the print to retract (I have already tried poking with bobby pins and they don't seem to work).
I have a question. I want to print a small version of this sword to test it out before I print the full size. Will it still work if I print it on a smaller scale? I'm using a PrusaSlicer
can i use black pla and also last time i tried to print at size 60 it didnt do anything so what size should i print on cus ive been printing for a whole week trying to make a drill sword and i finally found a good file but idk if its gonna work on anycubic kobra 2
This supposed to be printed with pla or does it matter? Also I tried twice and both prints the blades are stuck inside, printed on anycubic kobra go with cura slicer, no options to tweak the retraction settings either since cura doesn’t have a profile for the kobra go printer
Dostum ben de yeniyim creality k1 de sorunsuz aldım. Sadece en dış bıçak çıkıyordu, onuda ucundan hafif esnetince hepsi çıkmaya başladı. Sadece çıktılarında "fil ayağı" (elephant foot) efekti olmadığından emin olman lazım. Genel olarak bütün çıktılarında ilk 1-3 katmanda normalde olmaması gereken bir genleşme/erime varsa sıkıntı yaratır. Sıcaklık ayarlarını gözden geçirme gerekebilir.
heyo, i have some issues, I use an ender 3 v2 with PLA, test print works fine, however actual print gets stuck and im unable to get it out, how do i fix this? I use cura and tree supports, .4 nozzle, 20% infill, shell thickness is .4mm and .6mm, with raft supports. I print this on 90% speed, 200c for hotend nd 65c on bed, anything anyone can see im doing wrong?
Printed this today. It looks nice, but I can't extend it that far. I think I managed to drag the second and third blade to it's full extent, but the others is way too tight. The smallest blade was impossible to get out at all :( The test print printed with no problems at all
I would love to hear how it went! Also what printer/settings you used :) I think I may have bummed out, so this "too tight" thing may be my own fault. I'm doing a new print today :)
I don't have much experience so I would appreciate your help :)
When I try to print it doesn't stick to the surface so I added Raft but then it turns out not well the filling of the sword itself.
Does anyone know the reason?
Thanks!
Tried printing this on my anycubic photon d2 but couldn't get the blade to come out. Before curing i could move the blade around in the hilt but couldn't extract it. After curing it made it one solid piece for most part. Any suggestions?
I have printed it multiple times - 4 to be exact and only one came out great.
One issue I have with the latest batch is that when you extend it - it is actually too loose. Which means once extended, all parts just pop out.
That is surprising, most people have the opposite problem. Maybe you are under extruding? You could get the replaceable blade version, that way you can print the blades individually in vase mode so you can easily adjust the wall thickness.
I printed it on my dads ender 3 pro and used a 0.6 mm nozzle. The handle turned out great but the blade didn't extend. I made my own replaceable blade version and currently print it. This time with a 0.4 mm nozzle.
absolutely horrible model. thanks to the drill design of the sword i cant even reach in there with something flat to separate the layers that are stuck together.
waste of 25 hours of printing and 200g of filament.
Definitely something on your end @hipergone. I printed mine (finished a few minutes ago) in 8 hours, 28 minutes on a MK4. Based on your comment, I was concerned how it might turn out but I had some extra filament. My plan was to put the print in the fridge for 10 minutes to contract the plastic as much as possible, but as I pulled the print from the bed, it nearly fully extended on its own.
"Absolutely horrible model" is absolutely inaccurate. My condolences to your 200g of filament.
PETG doesn’t expand as much as PLA does with the same amount of extrusion which is why it’s good for dimensionally accurate parts. Definitely wanna turn up the flow rate 5-10 percent at a time. Maybe take a cross-section of the blade and try it out. Good luck!
I don’t print with petg often but In my experience I found that I need to turn up the extrusion multiplier(flow rate). You can try measuring the blade thickness, if it’s not at least .85mm then that’s the issue.

I opened all the layers, but I couldn't open the largest layer even though I tried hard.
Same thing here, I am using a knife to scrape the bottom part away and try to separate it.
If its only stuck on the first layer, a exacto knife should work but if its stuck at the layer seam, its much harder.
Cool filament! Where can find it?
I think I can help you
legend has it he (or she idk) is still looking for the filament.
hey 3D, question on the collapsing sword, do I put the infill on 0.15 or 15.0?
EDIT: im printing with a ender 3 v1
15.0
i just broke mine 28 hrs wish i known that before
Will it print on a ender 3 v3 se
i got mine on a ke sooo... gl
What settings did you use? I'm having issues with mine extending.
It printed on my Ender 3 S1 Pro.
this is an amazing model!! i have a very small toybox labs printer and i scaled it down and it still printed amazingly keep up great work this is the coolest bestest print i have ever printed im currently printing the second one
Sweet! Glad you like it.
For my first large print went very well came out great on my Neptune max 4

Can you share me your settings, because I as well have a Neptune 3 Pro and when I printed it it looked great until the blade didn't come out?
Z seam issue. If you select it on random it should work perfectly fine :)
Yeah that happened to me but it was not that bad how to fix?
My isnt done but it sure looks like is gonna be a awesome print!
can you print at 50% scale
I would not try it, It would make it very hard to print. You can print the replaceable blade version at 50% by printing the blades in vase mode.
where can i find that version?
Here it is: https://than.gs/m/909996

Obvious problems?
I'm guessing its seam size. I would work on reducing that with the test print.
I'm guessing its seam size. I would work on reducing that with the test print.
you need to change the layer height to 0.20 instead of 0.25 and maybe change the walls speed to 175mm/s
Anyone know which part is the problem cause this to happen?

Nothing? Isn't that the seam on the print where the printer starts extruding each layer?
how do get to have two or more colors on the sord
Us a multi color filament. btw its just mixed colors so just look on amazon.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09Y8WQXK4?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=zackfreedman-20&linkId=4b4adf5e4297af0a94468113e6676658&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl&th=1
You will need a membership for the upgraded version
The multi-part version is in my membership but I have a AMS version for free.
i printed the sword looks great but blade wont come out any thing i can do was planning to give to a friend
Change your settings in your slicer under Wall change the Z seam alignment to random. It works wonders
Find the test print and work on trying to reduce the size of your layer seam.
did you set the wall line count to 2?
You don't have to set your wall count to 2, it can only fit two walls for the blades anyways.
I’m new to this and what do I do for gcode is it for the print itself or the actual printer.
This is the STL (standard triangle language) file that needs to be loaded into a slicing software to be transfered into a gcode file before printing. Think of an stl file as the actual 3d image where as the gcode file is a list of comands that the printer will follow exactly to the letter.

I have a small store round my town where I sell 3d printed products. If I give credit to you, would it be fine if I sold it?
nice were ?
nice were ?
I have a commercial license on my patreon for this.
this would be perfect for a dinobot cosplay
Why is this so hard to do with XMAKER the blade part keeps getting stuck together how to fix
how long does this take
Hello can I scale it bigger or it will cause problems ?
I have a ender 3 max neo and there's always a bottom plate when I run the test print. so if anyone can help me that would be really helpful.
EDIT: Also what Infill pattern do I do?
Bottom plate? What does that mean? Raft?
Would this fit in a 180x180x180mm print volume? (e.g. Prusa MINI)?
Answering my own question: Nearly. Scaled down to 95% it fits.
after i print is there anything im missing because ive printed 2 and both do not work
I'm having trouble getting the inside to retract, I may have printed it smaller than I should have. I was wondering if they're are any tips to helping get the print to retract (I have already tried poking with bobby pins and they don't seem to work).

will it work on creality ender 3 v3 se?
I know many have had luck on many versions of the Ender 3 but I think it depends on the printer.

bro came back and saw 20 notifications
i made this print yesterday and it wont come out. can someone help me and tell me what am doing wrong?
will it print on ender 3 v2
I have trouble to print it because it says it will take 28 hours and it needs 66 meters of filiament
I need a little help I'm new to this and I have a Mac , the file will not open in Bambu studio , it seems its not an stl file
Do you print the sword with or without filament?
i generally print without filament, i find it uses a lot less filament that way.
bro.... what
Hello I wanted to ask permission to sell 3d prints of these at my town fair
I have a membership for commercial rights.
I could not take it out at first. I was able to pry it with a knife. When I tried to put it back in, it snapped into 6 pieces. What did I do wrong?
same thing happened to me.
Thank you so much for this.
I have a question. I want to print a small version of this sword to test it out before I print the full size. Will it still work if I print it on a smaller scale? I'm using a PrusaSlicer
I would not suggest this, instead find the test print. There is a link in every design and more information about it in the troubleshooting guide.
your test print doesn't make sense though. i read the troubleshooting guide multiple times .
is this for free
Yes
can i use black pla and also last time i tried to print at size 60 it didnt do anything so what size should i print on cus ive been printing for a whole week trying to make a drill sword and i finally found a good file but idk if its gonna work on anycubic kobra 2

Como faz o download kakaka
Would this work with resin?
no.
what settings do I have to set on a ender 3 pro?
I would suggest trying the new clearance test print.
before printing it I want to ask about the bottom and top thickness and about the wall thickness and if I have to use support. I use ender3 S1 pro
I print with four bottom, five top and three walls.
printing fine up until the cone piece at the end, proceeded to spew spaghetti. I wasn't home so I don't have a single clue what happened.
i cant find the test print
https://than.gs/m/1219209
It didn't open and i broke it
How do I get the last one out? It seems to be stuck
how many grams is it?
204.15g
selamlar,bu işte yeniyim. elegoo neptün 4 pro yazıcımla PLA ile iki defa denedim. Ama bıçaklar çıkmıyor.Nasıl bir ayar yapmalıyım

hey i build this butt it melt the under side close so i can not open this how do i fix this
I think from your description is that the first layer is too low causing elephants foot. This will keep it from opening all the way.
What size PLA I read through the comments but couldn't find anything about the PLA size
Size PLA? That depends on your hotend.
i printed the sword looks great but blade wont come out any thing i can do was planning to give to a friend
Same my blade for it also won't come out, so mad because it took 8 hours.
Worst 3D print ever. The blades wont come out and it broke. HORABLE.
If you are having issues, its probably due to your settings. If you provide more information, I would be happy to help.
play with your settings. don't get mad at the designer.
User error
It won't slice in Bambu Studio.
Won’t slice?
what infill do you use if any?
I use 15%
Printed this today. It looks nice, but I can't extend it that far. I think I managed to drag the second and third blade to it's full extent, but the others is way too tight. The smallest blade was impossible to get out at all :( The test print printed with no problems at all
Glad you got it working. 😅
Yeep! I had turned on Arachne wall generator. That did not turn out good! With classic walls and 0,43 line width, this turned out great! :D
I would love to hear how it went! Also what printer/settings you used :) I think I may have bummed out, so this "too tight" thing may be my own fault. I'm doing a new print today :)
I'm printing now. it looks good so far but I'm nervous 😳
Hey I would just like to ask beforehand will this work on a Flashforge Finder
It should if it can print 184mm tall?
I don't have much experience so I would appreciate your help :) When I try to print it doesn't stick to the surface so I added Raft but then it turns out not well the filling of the sword itself. Does anyone know the reason? Thanks!
What is your bed surface? Have you tried cleaning it?
so the free is not working thanks for wasting 12 hour of my printer time
again, don't get mad at the designer, play with your settings
Try tuning the test print
Yeah dats rude. It's almost 100% your fault not the designers. Mine printed out fine. I have a Bambu Lab A1 Mini and I did it with blue and green.
poo
What website did you make this on and how did you get the curved pieces.
thats what im asking
Tried printing this on my anycubic photon d2 but couldn't get the blade to come out. Before curing i could move the blade around in the hilt but couldn't extract it. After curing it made it one solid piece for most part. Any suggestions?
Did you try an IPA rinse prior to curing? like a full flush?
I can only get the blades to come out to 19" in length...it looks bigger in the videos
Do you have any elephants foot on the inside of the blades?
If I paint this sword, will it affect its collapse ability?
You could just buy multicolor filament!
You could just buy multicolor filament!
I have never tried printing the blades but I would not think it would work very well.
I have printed it multiple times - 4 to be exact and only one came out great. One issue I have with the latest batch is that when you extend it - it is actually too loose. Which means once extended, all parts just pop out.
I used satin PLA btw.
That is surprising, most people have the opposite problem. Maybe you are under extruding? You could get the replaceable blade version, that way you can print the blades individually in vase mode so you can easily adjust the wall thickness.

You will have a lot better luck with a .4mm nozzle.
Printed great accept the largest telescopic part won't extend.
absolutely horrible model. thanks to the drill design of the sword i cant even reach in there with something flat to separate the layers that are stuck together. waste of 25 hours of printing and 200g of filament.
Definitely something on your end @hipergone. I printed mine (finished a few minutes ago) in 8 hours, 28 minutes on a MK4. "Absolutely horrible model" is absolutely inaccurate. My condolences to your 200g of filament.
Sounds like your first layer was to low... Did you have the same issue when you tried the test print?
after spending some time cutting it apart the blades themselves were mostly loose i could wiggle them apart with minimal effort
mine wont extend
Try the replaceable blade version, its a easier to tune because you can print the blades separately in vase mode.
What kind of material did you print this on?
I used PLA for mine but had luck with PETG too.
How many hs/days does it take to printit??
Now days its going to depend on the type of printer you have. It takes longer than the other swords because the blade is mostly solid.
i had a prob actually extending the blade off the print any advice on how to fix the problem
Did you see the link above? Advice will differ depending on what the issue is, can you give more description of the problem.
I have printed but I cannot move the telescopic plate as layaers are stick together, any advice?
See the link in the description for troubleshooting. Did you try the test print first?
Does someone know how long the blade becomes? It's hard to estimate the length by the pictures.
My blades are around 540mm long.
My first long print!! 16 and a half hours in and its looking great!
Good luck! 🤞
printed this on my bambu p1p in white silk works perfect great work
Sweet! 🔥
I printed this in PETG on my Bambu x1. Printed great. The blade sections come right apart tho. I can even put them back in.
Glad it worked out, love that matte finish on the CF! 😮
thanks for the tip... I printed it in pla-cf and it came out perfect. Love this design and all your swords!
