Hey, how did you add your logo to this? I was having trouble converting the mesh into a solid body in fusion.

Can we mail you a print? I want to participate but won't be able to attend any of the events. 

I was wondering the same thing ! I didn't know about this before going to MRRF. Hopefully, someone will answer soon.

These are the tiles for the Layer Connections Community Artwork.

Choose one of the two designs and print without supports in any shade of blue. Be sure to check your tile has printed correctly and not lifted off the bed so that it will attach easily to the other pieces.

I have also included a test piece so you can check the tolerance of your tile.


THE CONCEPT OF THE ARTWORK, AND ITS STRENGTH, IS THAT EVERY SINGLE TILE IS PRINTED AND PLACED BY A DIFFERENT MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY AND EVERY TILE HAS A DIFFERENT NAME ON THE BACK SO PLEASE DON'T PRINT MORE THAN ONE TILE.

Layer Connections Community Artwork Project details

3D Print Bunny and STL Denise 3D are inviting everyone to join together in creating a 3D printed artwork that represents our community and will grow and evolve through the year (2024). The modular artwork, sponsored by Thangs, will travel to four different cities (across two continents) and be auctioned off in December for charity.

When completed Layer Connections will be an artwork made up of hundreds of art tiles each printed by a different member of the 3d printing community. The tiles, designed by 3DPrintBunny, slot together to create a mosaic artwork in shades of blue symbolizing unity and harmony. It is designed to bring makers and creators together to celebrate our community and to raise money for the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation.

Taking part in this project couldn’t be easier. The STL file is available on Thangs.com and is free for all. Simply download the file and print it at 100% scale using any shade of blue filament or resin. Bring your tile along to RMRRF, MRRF, 3D Printopia (ERRF) or SMRRF, and don't forget to sign the back before adding your piece to this collaborative artwork.
