This is how it stops. I forgot to take a pic of screen before having to reset printer. Now goes back to same spot and still doesn't print. Original Comment... The handle piece for me twice has oddly stopped printing at 31% (both times). I don't see anything in the code that mentions any potential issue. Has anyone else mentioned this? I didn't see any comments regarding this specifically. I am using Flashforge 5m (but the collapsing sword and bottom to handle both worked. So not sure that matters?

Hi,

Have you ever tried placing the sword somewhere other than directly in the middle of the print bed?

Did you slice the STL with the settings I recommended in the description?

Nice sound X

Do you need glue?

Hi, No!

Hello, can you print on a resin machine? I have an elegoo 3 ultra 12k?

Alexander M

I never tried it - but if you want to try it on a resin printer, let me know how it is running :)

"(as an Engineer I know that the Gyroid Pattern is always the best choice because of its stability and strength)"

As an engineer you should know Cubic is stronger, prints faster, uses less material, and wont shake your printer off the table like Gyroid.

Any time I hear the words "as an engineer" I immediately doubt whatever comes next. Gyroid is pretty (for see through prints) and can allow for filling with epoxy while still being strong (but if you are filling with epoxy its mostly moot), but cubic is superior in every other way.

How is this different from the 3d printing world one?

how do you slice the blade whenever i slice it standing up it warns me that there are floating parts

Alexander M
3d_factorybox

I slice it just like other things I slice. Choose a flat side of the model and place it flat on flat onto the print bed. Easy :)

Infelizmente perdi filamento, pois todas as peças estão com tamanhos errados.

How have you printed this model? Have you used my G-Codes files for BambuLab printers or have you used your own printing settings on your own printer?

Whenever I print something like this the blade parts don't work. Is it because of my printer (Ender 3 Pro) or something else?

Hi, sorry I can not help you - I printed the katana sword several times (as you can see it on my images) and everything was awesome! Maybe you have to try to adjust your printer settings. 😊

it broke straight away unfortunately :(

Alexander M

Ohh I`m sorry for you. What kind of filament have you used? :)

Do you print this standing or on its side?

Alexander M
3d_factorybox

Hi, I printed it standing.

ok first the blade is made of like one filament of width making it very very easy to break and seeing that its the blade is very questionable next the close part on the handle on the back is incredibly hard to put in, and lastly great idea and concept, before the blade broke It was really cool and fun!

Hey I printed the katana but when I tried to take to sword out, the tip of second to last collapsing part broke. Do you think I could get the file for that one part?

You mean the digital files right?, That's all you have the rights to. lol

Printed as is on a BL A1 very cleanly. The tolerances are off though as the tip of the blade and blade itself started falling out after a couple uses. Friction is insufficient to hold it in. Wasn't really putting much energy into it either. Also the plug for the handle is a very tight fit, takes a lot of force to squeeze it in at the risk of breaking. Could solve the plug by just shrinking it x,y by 1%, but blade bits can not individually be scaled - they are one stl.
