How To Straighten Filament To Use As Axles & Hinges In 3D Prints
I recently was working on (and uploaded) a project I wanted to use unprinted filament as axles and hinges. In it's 'unprinted' state, filament is thin AND strong (which it exactly what I wanted) but not straight (which isn't great for an axle). So I designed this 'filament straightening block' to help me out.
You can see in the video how it works. To prep the filament, it does require moving into the kitchen (which your family might find strange π) but it's just for a few minutes.
Using this tool, I was able to straighten filament and insert it into my latest project: my Mini Magnetic Tile Haunted House (a scaled down and more playful version of my original Magnetic Tile Haunted House).
In the above photo you can see the window pieces that all rotate and have different images on both sides.
You can print as many as few or as many as you want. Both small houses...and big houses are fun:)
Have fun printing!! π Erin
P.S. I found Waldo πͺ¦
