Cappy (Super Mario Odyssey)
Introducing Cappy, one of the main characters from the game Super Mario Odyssey. This 3D model is a fun addition to any collection, featuring Cappy atop a stand as if he's ready to transform into another hat. This is my first attempt at designing a flying character, and I'm very happy with how Cappy turned out!
At 100% scale, Cappy stands 3" (75mm) tall and is 3.1" (79mm) deep. Using the stand he is about 5.75" (150mm). Scaling up should pose no issues, though scaling down may make the eyes a little tight.
Colors Used:
- Elegoo: Matte White, Matte Black, Sky Blue (hair)
- Sunlu: Matte Powder Blue (body)
- Geetech: Silver
- Creality: Hyper Red
Printing Tips:
- I consistently use a glue stick to secure prints to the bed for better adhesion. No supports or rafts are necessary for the parts.
- Using 3 wall loops has been effective to avoid artifacts on some pieces compared to using 2.
Assembly Tips:
- Begin by assembling the eye pieces, ensuring correct placement for left and right.
- Insert the white eyes into the black eye trim.
- Glue the sky blue hair to the top hat.
- Insert the peg completely into the body and secure with glue. Position the white hat rim over the body with the arrow on top pointing forward. It will initially be loose. Attach and glue the silver hat trim over the white rim, securing it with the pin. Then attach and glue the top hat in place.
- Glue both eyes onto the hat, ensuring the black and white parts glue to the hat.
- Finally, attach Cappy securely onto the stand.
Now you have a Cappy ready to join your collection! Thank you for your ongoing support!
