Retro Gyro Spinning Top Fidget Toy
Hey, this is a gyroscope where you can push the Screw to make it spin infinitely. Even while it's running! I reverse engineered a very old toy for this. I had always been wondering how it worked.
You need: 1 Bottom 1 Top 1 Screw 1 Plate 1 Cover 7 Connectors (I like to print them in PETG) The tool is optional and helps with Assembly.
Print settings: Standard. No supports.
Assembly: I made an Assembly Video: https://youtu.be/MzjyBXdPJ2E And an Assembly PDF that's inside the download and can be found here: https://than.gs/pr/250191
Technical Data: one Gyro takes roughly 4.5 hours to print and 90g of filament. I used Protopastas Midnight and Marine dream Blue in the pictures.

Why is it that after i fully assembled, according to the video, when i push the screw down it spins one way, then when i pull the screw out, it stops it and starts to rotate the opposite way??
Do you think this can this be made @ 50% ?
So excited to try this, I remember having one of these as a kid!
You mention the tool and you use it during assembly on the youtube video, but I don't see that as an STL - is that elsewhere or a specific "tool" I can buy?
Would regular PLA work ?
Yes
