Gear Skull Fidget Toy Kinetic Art
Hey, this is a collaboration with Kekreations make sure to check out her stuff here https://thangs.com/designer/Kekreations
There are a small and a big version of this file. I recommend the big version. It's worth the Filament! They are absolutely the same except for their sizes.
You need: All 14 individual Gears 1 Heart 14 Connectors. There are "All" File that have everything you need for a full assembly. There is also a tool that helps with putting in the connectors.
Print Settings: You can use Standard settings for all parts. I used a brim on the Gears to prevent them from toppling over. No supports needed.
Assembly: I made an Assembly Video: https://youtu.be/QdcZz_GISsY There is also an Assembly PDF included in the download. You can also find that here: https://than.gs/pr/250934 Troubleshooting: Watch this Video: https://youtu.be/PWUoJc_Gc84
Technical Data: The Big Gear Skull takes, around 500g of Filament and 19 hours to print on 3 Separate Plates. The Small Gear Skull takes, around 110g of Filament and 6 hours to print.
Leave a like if you can :D

When I download the files I get one "All" file and one troubleshooting folder with hearts and connectors. I was under the impression there was a few plates to print for the larger skull file. Did I miss something?
Hey, Sorry, seems like the files somehow disappeared. I just fixed it.
I'm seeing the same thing - it's a single file with all parts on one plate. Probably needs to be re-uploaded?

Great model, looks truly amazing. Just thought perhaps you'd consider lettering/numbering the pieces and the heart, you could even add a directionality arrow on each peace in reference to the jaw. This would result in a vastly simpler assembly process with less confusion about each piece. May also be helpful if they are labelled in the STL file so at the least the person printing can label them themselves.
How big is the large version relative to a real skull e.g. front-to-back measurement and width measurement? I would like to print this with a size similar to real skull and I'm wondering how much to scale it?
For reference: Men's skull average front-to-back measurement is 176 mm and the average width is 145 mm Women's skull average front-to-back measurement is 171 mm and the average width is 140 mm
The small version is different from the big one in several pieces, mostly arround the nose, so the small version does not work very well, and its functioning is not remotedly close to the big one shown in the video...
Hey, you can fix the "does not work very well" by watching the troubleshooting video. You are right, the pieces differ a little. But the system is the same. Btw. it's the small version I show in the video.
Hi again, I ment the video shown on the top of this same page, it certainly is the big version, not the small...and about the "troubleshooting video", the model still has some issues, will keep adjusting. I can say it´s the first of all your "gear" models, which are marvelous btw, that I have had problems with...and I have printed them all...
Hi Ruben! Great design, great work... I was wondering what slicer do you use for your models? Thanks!
TY! I exclusively use Orca slicer and can recommend that Slicer very much.
