Gear Fractal Fidget Toy
Hey, this is a mechanical version of the Shirpinsky Pyramid. Im going to make a motorized version in a while.
You need: 6 Fractal gears of your chosen size 8 Triangle Gears 14 Connectors 1 Heart The Tool is optional but make the assembly easier.
Print Settings: Nothing needs supports except for the Fractal gears. I did Support paint them on so that you can slice the wile with manual supports enabled.
Assembly: I made an Assembly Video: https://youtu.be/wedLa-mneYc. There is also a PDF guide that you can find above.
Troubleshooting: if anything goes wrong, you can watch this Video: https://youtu.be/mJWSU6X7Piw
Technical Data:

what are the size measurements? of small medium and large
The troubleshooting hearts are not working as the original heart is the same as the -10 heart. I am trying to fix a loose fidget but there are no smaller hearts to test
This comes up a lot. The actual heart is not smaller or bigger. The connector insert moves outward and inward. They are different. Just not in size. Just try. They will work like described.
Ahh ok
I cannot access the prints. I cannot use Bambu Labs on my computer. Can I get a file of STL to print? Thank you.
Download only has .3mf and troubleshooting files for the heart. Can you add the .stl for the rest of the parts?
The 3mf has presupported areas. I strongly recommend to somehow use that. I'm curious what slicer do you use, and why can you use that? I want to make my stuff as convenient as it can be. By the way, the Files are all in the 3mf. Just delete what you don't need if you need to reprint something.
Primarily I like the individual stls so I can fine tune myself in cad rather than guess with troubleshooting files. Or to print one part without having to do a bunch of stuff on the plate. I also don't love dismissing a bunch of warnings from Orca about printer specific gcode, then spending time double checking everything because I have trust issues.
If it's not cool or not possible, no troubles. I'll work it out. Just figured they'd be there like the others. Neat design, love your stuff.
Ty! You can right-click and select export as STL. For now, I'm going to let it be like that and see if other people want a change too.
For me, running Ender 3s, I miss the individual part exports. I can make them manually, but my print bed doesn't always fit your larger clusters (230mmx230mm), and I like printing structural parts in PETG and then having a variety of PLA colors for the other parts. I personally use Simplify3D and can't take advantage of the support painting or delete parts the way it's currently encoded.
