Cyber Oni-Samurai 13
A cybernetic Oni warrior brought to life!
This figurine is built on the Dummy 13 platform, scaled up to 150% to better capture the intricate details of the face, horns, and armor.
The design is split into 4 plates, making it easier to manage the build, mix materials, and customize your colors.
🧩 Plates & Print Setup
Plate 1 – Frame
- 🔧 Best printed in PETG (recommended for joints).
- ABS/ASA works best for long-term durability.
- PLA is not recommended (stiff, brittle, and creeps under stress), though it can work if it’s all you have.
- ⚠️ Expect tighter joints, possible snapping, and loosening over time if you go with PLA.
(Frame material recommendations adapted from @soozafone’s original Dummy 13 v1.0 post.)
Plate 2 – Head Armor
- 🎨 Printed with PLA (AMS multi-color setup).
- Easier to swap AMS filaments than to paint the head (though painting works too).
- Recommended Settings:
- Layer Height: 0.12 mm
- Supports: Tree Supports Slim
- Be gentle removing supports from the hair – proper calibration will give you a clean result.
- ✅ I ran a full calibration and maintenance pass before printing the head, highly recommended.
Plate 3 – Armor
- Printed in PLA.
- Designed for multi-color printing – most parts are separated for easy AMS swaps.
- ⚠️ Chest piece is not separated (too late in the design to redo).
- Supports: Tree Supports Slim are required.
Plate 4 – Sword & Sheath
- Printed in PLA.
- Simple weapon accessory to complete the Oni-Samurai aesthetic.
🎨 Filament Recommendations
Armor parts:
- Works with PLA, PETG, or ASA.
Frame parts:
- Best with ABS/ASA, PETG also works.
- PLA is possible, but expect issues with joints over time.
⚔️ Final Notes
- Platform scaled up to 150% for better detail.
- Total: 4 plates.
- Color scheme is flexible – swap filaments in AMS or remix your palette.
