Along with this, many 3D printer users have requested to make a Falcon 9 rocket with a dragon capsule up to the orbit. So I made the Falcon 9 rocket at the request of my clients. This Falcon 9 rocket was intended to be able to connect to the previously created dragon capsule and trunk. So, it is the largest I have ever designed. So, I designed it to be printed in many parts. In this design project, the landing leg was the biggest problem to be solved, but the piston structure was changed to a folding method because it was impossible to print in a slim shape in desktop 3D printing. But with these changes
- This Falcon 9 rocket can fold and unfold its landing legs and stand safely.
- The wings can also be spread and folded.
The assembly process of this Falcon 9 rocket is as follows.
- Fold the 4 landing legs first.
- Connect the pipe (folding structure) that connects the landing legs and the body.
- Glue the landing legs.
- Attach the landing leg to the body and connect the folding pipe. When connecting pipes, connect them by pushing them at an angle perpendicular to the body.
- Connect the landing legs to the body and fold them into the body.
- Glue the nozzle to the bottom.
- Attach the bodies in order. It is recommended to use adhesive.
- Attach the cables to the body in order. We recommend using glue.
- Put the dragon capsule and the trunk on the top to finish.
See the video for the above process.
※ Dragon capsule and trunk are not included.
Congratulations on the success of Space X, and hope that the era of the commercial space industry opens as soon as possible.
