To complete the Futurama series, I finally designed the Planet Express spaceship. I put my best effort into making the design as suitable as possible for 3D printing. I tried to faithfully recreate the appearance seen in the cartoon, and I also gave a lot of thought to replicating as many moving parts as possible. For example, the boarding stairs at the front can fold and unfold, the hangar can open and close, and of course, the turret on top rotates.

In addition, to enhance the sense of realism, I added my own imagination by engraving panel lines similar to those I’ve used in the other spaceships I’ve designed.

The printing and assembly process is very simple, but there are a few things you need to pay attention to:

When attaching the turret to the main body, you should apply glue only around the edges so that the turret can rotate later. This detail isn’t clearly shown in the video, so please keep it in mind. When attaching the folding stairs at the front, make sure to align the pegs and holes properly before inserting them. When attaching the outer wall of the hangar (the light green part), make sure to check the direction of the parting line. You can see this in the video. The rings and wings of the horizontal stabilizers on both sides won’t fit if they’re misaligned, so please test-fit them first before gluing. Once you’ve confirmed the alignment, then attach them permanently. The logo on the vertical tail has circle and triangle markings engraved on the base, so just align those markings when attaching it. The landing gear covers are marked with the letters R and L for right and left, and you just need to insert them with the letters facing inward.
