Large Helical Heart with Secret Compartment
This “Large Helical Heart” has a secret compartment inside! The pieces twist apart into two separate but identical pieces.
Print in different colours to highlight the spiral curves.

Two “Helical Hearts” available: Large (plain and with hidden compartment): https://social.thangs.com/m/690383 Small: https://social.thangs.com/m/690164
The “Large Helical Heart” is 80mm at the widest point, the “Small Helical Heart” is 50mm at the widest point.
Print two copies of the file. In order to preserve a smooth sliding contact surface, print the files on the side as they are oriented. Try raising the model off the bed by 3mm or so and building tree support up to the overhangs.

Thank you for making my son's surprise so much more than he ever expected. I know I posted most of the stuff on thingaverse but I thought I'd post the photo here.
I have printed this out multiple times following you guide lines. It is nearly impossible to get the two pieces to slide together. Specially how smoothly you show it.You have to brute force them together and forget about taking them apart. It prints out great, would really love it if the pieces would like together as easy as you show it. I am using ender 3 pro and also printed on snapmaker a350 same issue. Not usable at this point for me. Great job on the design, wish it worked.
I printed 4 pieces on my Prusa MINI+, and they all are usable with only about 15-20 minutes of work and sanding to remove leftover parts from the supports and other imperfections.
That's normal. You are using an FDM printer. Two things sliding perfectly together require perfect precision, which you get from a resin printer. With an FDM printer you'll have to sand it out for hours to get it right.
Rad model, thank you! Saw this on Tik Tok!
My first grader wanted me to print this for his crush for valentines day. he is putting some candy in the compartment.
Too bad he won't remember her in 10 years lol
Heart this (literally)
This is really fun, thanks for sharing it!
