GIFT BOX #20
Gift Box #20 This is my fourth season making these gift boxes. Each year I design five different versions. They all may look the same from the outside but each one has a different secret way of opening.
Pulling out two sides of the bow on this box releases all four catches allowing the box top to be pulled off. The seam is hidden under the center of the bow so there are no visible clues.
Printing Its roughly 100mm x 100m x 80mm tall. The top prints in place as one part, none of the parts require supports, designed for a .4mm nozzle. The bow and ribbons for the top are printed separately and are glued on. I used Starbond's Thick CA Glue(aff). Be careful when gluing on the moving ribbons, I used their thick glue and only put it on the top of the post the ribbon glues onto.
I printed all the parts in the orientation the stl’s are provided in. Use helper discs or a bring to them to keep the ribbons stable during printing. I printed everything at .2 layer heights but the box could definitely be printed at a larger layer height without issue.
Thanks to Jamg HE for being the filament sponsor by providing their PLA+ for this years gift boxes. I used their green, blue and white for this box. You can get an additional 10% off with coupon code: ICEDC0611 using this link. Its a good deal for PLA+ when multiple spools are purchased.
Too much friction? Try PTFE Lubricate Spray(aff). This stuff is amazing and just a little bit will majorly help to smooth the motion. If you don’t already own as set of these clamps(aff.) you should pick them up, they really help with gluing the ribbons on.
Printed on the Muldex rep-rap IDEX printer.
Other Gift Boxes You can find ALL the other gift boxes in the Puzzle Present Collection.

THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS WORKS SO WELL!!!!!!
Glad you like it! Its probably my favorite one for 2025.
I printed PIP Gift Box #7 last night and love it. These are great. Can you tell me what helper discs are? Use helper discs or a bring to them to keep the ribbons stable during printing. I'm new to 3d printing. Thank you!
Hey! Glad you like it. They are similar to a brim but instead of all the way around, they are just on the corner. The print will shrink more on the corner then in the middle. Prusa slicer has a small disc you can place just in the corner. Brims also works just more work to remove.
On the versions this year, I am including helper discs in the stl's. We will see how people like the models like that, TDB...
Love the Gift Box Collection. It's making getting unique gifts for 9 nieces and nephews a breeze. When I download the collection, it's not including 18, 19, and 20. Is there a quick fix for this?
I don't get that, they all show up for me.
