Articulated Panda Cub Fidget (MMU)

This model is restricted by licensing terms.

A panda recolor of the Articulated Bear Cub.

Customization

Head

  • Default head
  • Head with hat port - Compatible with many snowpeople hats

Printing

  • Unlike the Articulated Bear Cub, which is easily printed on both single and multicolor printers, this design is only recommended on multicolor printers because the panda spots are not easy to print in pieces. Single color printers will probably get the best results by painting the panda spots instead.
  • All parts can be printed without supports. However, the chest includes challenging overhangs that may benefit from supports on some printers.
  • A 0.15mm layer height is recommended for cleaner overhangs.
  • Head and chest have very little contact with the print bed. A brim may be useful to prevent these parts from detaching.
  • Consider applying a slight fuzzy skin to outer walls for a furry look and a stronger grip when posing.

Assembly

  • See the video above for a full assembly of the bear cub - this remix is the same process.
  • If printing eyes, nose, and toes separately, glue these parts into place.
  • Bear can be held together with a rubber band, scrap of TPU, round sewing elastic, fishing wire, or a printed TPU tie (model included in the files).
  • After assembling the bear, you can close up the bottom port with the 3D printed plug. - Use a flathead screwdriver to lock the plug in place.

No prob, here's the process in most slicers:

  • Open the print file (For example head.stl) in your slicer.
  • If your slicer asks if you want to import the file as a "single object with multiple parts", select "Okay".
  • If your slicer did NOT give you that prompt, right click on the head and select "Split" and then "To Parts".
  • You will now be able to select & color sections of the head.

Unlike a painted model, the color areas have defined depth that should print more cleanly :)
