Hearts will definitely be beating this Valentine’s Day thanks to these scanimation cards ❤️ To make the heart ‘move’ just slide the slotted screen back and forth. I designed two styles: (1) a hinged card with a heart cut-out and (2) an open, flat card. These are perfect for Valentine’s Day gift exchanges 💕

Update 6/11/2026: I have uploaded a new version of Heart Scanimation Folding Card with an improved hinge. This new version has tighter tolerances so there is 'less play' or wiggle in the hinge. My 3mf file has all the settings you'll need and I also explain them here 👇🏼

3D PRINTING SETTINGS Layer Height 0.2mm PLA works great 15% Infill No supports needed Turn on ‘Detect thin wall’ under ‘Quality’ tab in slicer program

Instructions for 3D Printing: Everything prints in place with no supports (including the hinges on the hinged card). I recommend turning on the “detect thin walls” setting in you slicer program before printing the cards.

To assemble, insert the slotted screens into the track of each card and then pull on the tab to move it back and forth.
